English Wait, what was it about? Right, it was those two crazy guys, one like the other, who started some collaboration with an international car manufacturer and almost did not even get the desired contract. If not for the positive vibe and likeable characters, I would have turned it off in the first five minutes. When it comes to comedy, it was not that funny and the only thing that made me keep watching was the premise. However, I wouldn’t guess that Ron Howard made it. In comparison to A Beautiful Mind or Da Vinci Code, it is just too ordinary. Sure, the premise is not the worst. For example, Ridley Scott also made a low-key comedy A Good Year and proved that he can shoot a comedy. Howard simply failed at it. ()

English A below average drama, an average comedy... but either way it had some light moments where I wanted to pee myself laughing! The year 2011 has many great films so I guess it can get away with it sometimes too, right? But we don't have to sink any lower, do we? ()

English Perhaps for the first time I was disappointed by the general rating here on Filmbooster (HAPPY!). The film is absolutely amazing. A fairly simple story that doesn't really develop in any major obvious way during the course of the journey, however, with the acting duo of Vince and Kevin in the lead roles and their great chemistry with each other, I had a great time. Cool atmosphere and the ending was absolutely brilliant. One of those slice of life films that just puts a smile on your face. :) ()

English Why do the toasts that are mostly spoken in American comedies have to be so awkward? Probably yes. However, the problem is not just the toast in the movie "The Dilemma", the problem is actually the whole film. Ron Howard once again showed that not everything that glitters is gold, and even though he cast quite interesting actors who have comedic potential (Vince Vaughn and Kevin James), neither of them is utilized. Vince seems to be running out of breath in recent years and here he is absolutely unfunny. Kevin James, on the other hand, is placed in a role that is not interesting and when it is, it doesn't have a comedic but rather a dramatic aspect. It begs the question why the movie is actually labeled as a comedy. It's not funny. Vaughn falling onto some poisonous flower and getting bumps is not funny. We have seen something similar in "Hitch", where it was quite funny, especially because it went a little exaggerated, even though it was about an allergy. What is the movie about? That's the problem right there. Two friends have wives, all four of them meet, one guy catches the other guy's wife with someone else. The whole time it's about whether to tell him or not. What Vaughn does for it is senseless. Moreover, right from the beginning, it is baffling why such a movie, especially with this topic, lasts almost two hours? It's clear that not every minute will be great. And it definitely isn't. The movie is very boring, which is a fundamental problem, and even though the actors cry beautifully or desperately try to make some grotesque joke, nothing interesting happens to evoke any emotions in the viewer. Once again, it's a terrible tragicomedy that lacks both comedy and an interesting dramatic element. Talking about a buddy movie is absolutely unnecessary. Sandler and James do it much better.
