On behalf of a French museum, Charlie Chan (Warner Oland) is brought to Egypt to investigate Professor Arnold, an archaeologist thought to be involved in the disappearance of several valuable artifacts. However, once he learns that Arnold has been murdered and hidden in an Egyptian tomb, Chan must shift his investigation to help the Arnold family solve the baffling crime and rid them of a menacing curse they believe to be the cause of it all.
