English Rather less well-known and more toned down pieces. Which certainly isn’t a criticism. But the awful visuals that try to create the atmosphere using blurred tourist brochure-type shots (with texts!) of the beauties of Venice - a sure-fire way of destroying the effect - and this is criticism. And of course you can watch the concert with your eyes closed (and it’s quite pleasant really), but then you might as well be playing a cd. ()

English The music and its performance deserves to p marks, but the concert recording is worse. The lazy camera first starts moving properly during the song "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", when it flies around very nicely, and until Susanna Rigacci enters the scene, the director leaves the singers unnoticed (even S.R. is only seen from a great distance!) What we don't get at all are the shots of the viewers/listeners... Instead, the director (or I don’t know whose idea it was) keeps serving us shots of the sun-drenched Venetian city, the sea, chicken and the buildings, including the faces of smiling Italian pensioners. Dios mío! ()
