Fun screwball comedy starring Pidgeon as an intrepid reporter who is assigned to smear lady judge Russell after she has handed down a hefty alimony payment to his boss, Arnold. Seeking to the get the goods on her and have her disbarred, Pidgeon (who was given an unlimited expense account) follows the judge to her home in Cape Cod, where he falls in love with her in spite of himself. Russell discovers the plot to discredit her and hauls both Pidgeon and Arnold into court, where the reporters love for her is revealed during testimony. Its all very silly, but great fun, handled by a skillful cast of players, including Jean Rogers as a flippant manicurist with a wisecracking tongue. (official distributor synopsis)
