The Hi-Lo Country

Western set in post-war New Mexico based on the novel by Max Evans (1962). At first glance, nothing groundbreaking, but as a genre picture from a time when the romanticism of cattle drivers was slowly fading away, good. The theme of returning from World War II and the end of an era on multiple fronts is simply interesting. Neither Harrelson, nor Patricia Arquette, nor Penélope Cruz disrupt the atmosphere with their acting. (03/27/2023)
