Unlike the previous episode, this one was a blast from start to finish. The action scenes on the river were fantastic, and I'll pretend I didn’t notice the absurd platforms Ragnar’s fleet was pushing just for the sake of staging some combat. The Emperor’s garrotes were a nice touch, and surprisingly, I didn’t mind the big time jump. ()
A mess on the Seine in Paris and then an even bigger mess with the script and the time jumps. The creators are really not afraid of moving the story forward several years in the wink of an eye as if it was nothing. In this case, it's extremely good, because it gives us the opportunity to actually see new characters (the almost grown-up sons of Ragnar) and their interesting personality traits, which will probably be the driving force of the whole series over time.
