A film that influenced me a lot in my youth (meaning I picked some old VHS) and that was also always a guarantee of entertainment. Anyone who wants to make a feel-good family film should first watch this one to know how it should be like. But no matter how hard they will try, they will never have the great Tomáš Holý, so they won't even come close to this gem. The crocodiles are clear proof of that... 100% ()
In the past, maybe just a few years ago, I would have given it a solid 4 stars, but as the years have passed, this holiday family comedy doesn't resonate with me as strongly anymore. The cast is decent, and Tomáš Holý is naturally charming and appropriately cute... Overall impression: 65%. ()
It's a very relaxing film with good gags, a great grandfather-water goblin (who always gets to me), a nice bucolic rural atmosphere, and sensitive direction by Marie Poledňáková. Strangely enough, I still like it even though I’m older. ()
