Buta

I was expecting to be entertained by some pirates, although in the end, this is just a story about some animals. I guess I should have known that because, after all, Buta is Japanese for pig. Anyway, it does not have a bad narrative, and at times it was a respectable and fascinating movie. However, another of the Japanese perversions known as mecha manifested itself and spoiled it. I feel this sort of thing has ruined several Japanese anime movies and series, and even the American Wild Wild West. So I was not thrilled by this movie. I spent a long time thinking that the gang leader looked like a cat, and then there were a bunch of normal cats, so how was this human-cat related to the normal cats? Sure, it is an analogy, but a female "cat" portrayed as a cat and an animal cat probably should not co-exist in the same movie, so I thought it was quite peculiar. I am awarding this an average of 5.1/10. (01/09/2017)
