Domestic

Domestic is Adrian Sitaru's third feature film, following "Pescuit sportiv/Hooked" and "Din dragoste cu cele mai bune intenţii/ Best Intentions" both having been awarded by numerous prestigious festivals and screened at CinEast in 2010 and 2012. The film follows the story of three main characters - Mr. Lazăr (Adrian Titieni), Mr. Mihăeş (Gheorghe Ifrim) and Toni (Sergiu Costache) - and their animals, all having to live together in the same apartment building. They each become engaged in a series of funny, absurd and yet realistic events, each character completing the story of the others, influencing it in a certain manner. A rabbit, a hen, a cat, a dog and even a pigeon enter the lives of the main characters and affect them in surprising ways. Wonderfully surreal, painfully real, this is the story of children, adults and animals who live together trying to have a better life. This bittersweet comedy is about all of us, people who eat the animals that they love and about the animals that love people unconditionally. (CinEast)
