Teenaged sisters Emma (Sofia Black-D'Elia) and Stacey (Analeigh Tipton) live a normal life, until their small suburban neighborhood is stricken with a mysterious parasitic virus. As the disease rapidly spreads throughout the town, the two band together to barricade themselves from infection. In the case of the horror film Viral, it's not about bringing something completely new, but its main positive aspect is the fact that the subject matter, which was supposed to be filmed and was filmed, is presented well. Sure, you get exactly what you expect, not a bit more, but if you had to choose one film that's a horror about a parasite, this one is a textbook example. But The Faculty is still better and more fun.
