Sense8 (2015)

English Initially, the premise intrigued me and promised a great experience, but it gradually dawned on me that I’m not the target demographic. The story itself was heavily sidelined in favor of promoting the “rainbow flag” movement. It was annoying. I'm not a homophobe, everyone should live their life as they wish, I'm not against gay and lesbian marriage, I have nothing against gender reassignment (if the participants are okay with it, why should I object?). But what I really hate is when I become the target of such propaganda and when the creators decide to trim the story down so that they can fit more soft porn in it (luckily not very often). I think this was an unnecessarily wasted opportunity because the idea had great potential. ()

Season 1 (2015) (S01)

English I had fun whenever there was a crisis and the characters were able to cooperate thanks to their connection. I was also intrigued by looking into their past. What I didn’t like all that much was when the sisters decided to share with me what turned them on. I don't think of myself as a homophobe, it takes all kinds, but I really don't enjoy watching that. Plus, Lito and Hernando’s kissing scenes always made me think of Velcro for some reason. Oddly enough, I never feel that way about lesbian scenes... Anyway, I find the premise of mind-to-mind communication great. It's what makes me want to watch the next season. ()

Limbic Resonance (2015) (S01E01)

English I rate the first episode of the series as a classic pilot, which is supposed to introduce the viewer to the plot and acquaint them with the characters. It turned out halfway, I got to know the most important characters (and there were plenty of them), but due to their number, I didn't learn anything more about them than a few superficial details. The story was completely unclear to me after the first episode, although I have a certain basic idea, but that's all. Despite these remarks, I have to admit that the idea of interconnected minds from all around the world intrigued me, and I will definitely continue watching. ()

I Am Also a We (2015) (S01E02)

English The second episode gave me the impression that I might have a serious problem with the series, even though it still seems interesting to me. I disliked that I learned very little about the characters and the story once again, but on the other hand, I found out something about the character Nomi that I didn't want to know. Why did the screenwriters Lana/Laurence and Lilly/Andrew Wachowski create the character Nomi/Michael? It feels like unnecessary self-promotion to me. ()

Smart Money's on the Skinny Bitch (2015) (S01E03)

English I had barely complained about the course of the previous episode when the third part improved my mood. I'm finally starting to feel like I will gradually learn more about the individual characters, and in addition, there was a truly strong connection between the different characters for the first time, which promises an interesting development in the future. ()

What's Going On? (2015) (S01E04)

English The fourth episode was very similar to the previous one. The plot was quite interesting, the creators managed to bring me closer to Sun Bak's character and I was pleased with the stronger connection of the whole Cluster again. Additionally, I had quite a good time speculating about the details of an Indian wedding ceremony. ()

Art Is Like Religion (2015) (S01E05)

English The Lithuanian character saved the episode this time, his interaction with Sun really made me laugh. Otherwise, I was quite disappointed, I felt like the script got stuck somehow and keeps presenting me with the same thing, just in a pale blue shade. I didn't notice any significant development in the story. ()

Demons (2015) (S01E06)

English There was a significant improvement in the sixth episode compared to the previous one, although I had to endure a swingers party that I would have liked to skip; there was too much testosterone for my taste. The plot moved forward this time, but I would have appreciated if the constant talking was replaced with action. ()

W. W. N. Double D? (2015) (S01E07)

English I was worried that after a successful episode, a worse one would come, but it didn't happen. The story progressed smoothly, the pace was decent, and even though there were again testosterone-fueled conflicts, which certainly don't excite me, the creators finally added some action, so there was something worth watching. ()

We Will All Be Judged by the Courage of Our Hearts (2015) (S01E08)

English I have given it four stars again (mainly for Nomin's escape), but I am increasingly feeling that each episode is divided into two parts, and the relationship part is really starting to annoy me. The important things are often pushed aside, and I have to watch two guys fight each other's faces in every episode. Sure, Dani is all excited about it, but it just bores me. Actually, I'm bothered by all those make-out scenes, there are too many of them, and when I've seen one, I've seen them all, because it's always the same. ()

Death Doesn't Let You Say Goodbye (2015) (S01E09)

English Well, yeah. Different relationships were once again excessively discussed, the dynamism disappeared from the story, and most of the plot revolved around how unhappy Lito is that he lost his loooover. This really couldn't inspire me, and the only bright moment for me was the suicidal scene, that was well written. ()

What Is Human? (2015) (S01E10)

English Wolfgang succeeded in getting the third star for the tenth episode. I don't know why the creators so desperately avoid more action scenes with the connection of individual characters. It's true that such a scene appears in every episode, but why be so stingy with them? If they save them for some amazing finale, they risk losing interest, not everyone will want to wait. ()

Just Turn the Wheel and the Future Changes (2015) (S01E11)

English Wow, the eleventh episode suddenly came to life. The series reminds me a lot of cooking - if all the ingredients are in balance, everything works. But when the script focuses mostly on relationships or there are long conversations, it loses its attractiveness. This time, there was action involved and everything became more interesting. I'm not saying it has to be violent scenes, but the characters should cooperate more often to keep things happening. Staring contests and five-minute-long kisses slow down the pace of the story. ()

I Can't Leave Her (2015) (S01E12)

English The final episode was divided into two parts and I enjoyed both of them. The first part was about the attempt to rescue Riley in Iceland, during which I came across some new information again. The second part was taken by Wolfgang and his effort to secure a living space. A very decent episode. ()

Season 2 (2016) (S02)

English I was far from satisfied with Season 2. What annoyed me was the creators’ approach (especially Lana Wachowski), who focused too little on the main story, reveling in steamy scenes and almost soap-opera-like subplots instead. In the end, not even a two-hour running time was enough for the final episode. Corners had to be cut, which, especially regarding Mr. Hoy was almost a disgrace, and it didn’t do the series any good. ()

Happy F*cking New Year (2016) (S02E01)

English No, I fell for it. In the first season, I gave it four weaker stars with my eyes closed, I was looking forward to the continuation, and now this... The dreadful cover of Nina Simon's opening hit really got to me, and from there it just went downhill. Essentially, it was just a two-hour advertisement for the rainbow movement, which was nicely highlighted by an amazing swingers party that almost made me sick (too much testosterone). The boring plot of both the birthday and Christmas celebrations was complemented by equally boring music (see 87th cover of the song Hallelujah), so if it weren't for two decent action sequences involving all the main characters, I wouldn't even give it that one piece. ()

Who Am I? (2017) (S02E02)

English I was afraid that I would be bored again, but the creators surprised me this time with an interesting plot that I did not expect after the previous experience. Although the shameful attitude of the majority society towards homosexuals was addressed again, the other storylines worked quite well for me, so I was not too dissatisfied. ()

Obligate Mutualisms (2017) (S02E03)

English The plot of the story developed in an even more interesting way in this episode than in the previous one, and the longer I watch the series, the more certain I am that the best parts are the scenes with Sun and Wolfgang. And of course, the scenes where all the main characters appear together. ()

Polyphony (2017) (S02E04)

English The episode had a great start, I have already written about how much I enjoy the collaboration of the entire cluster, so I believed in high ratings, but as time went on, it turned out that the pace of the story gradually decreased, so I couldn't go on with three pieces in the end. ()

Fear Never Fixed Anything (2017) (S02E05)

English Although my rating is the same as in the previous episode, I liked this one half a star more. As always, I enjoyed Sun's storyline, but this time it was complemented well by the events surrounding Nomi's e-death and the events that took place around Riley and Will. I definitely wasn't bored. 3*+ ()
