The ending comes at a point when the audience has almost forgotten about the gang from the basement. And it comes in a double dose and in a mood when it clearly doesn't want to end. That's why I'm even more happy that Graham Linehan pulled up his big boy pants and gave the hungry audience one last proper bite, after which the belly may hurt a bit less than after the most cult episodes, but your nostalgic smile is wider and more lasting.
