Plots(1)

Somebody built a goddamn school gym directly over the stolen cash his girlfriend buried for him. And now, ex-con Zeki Müller has no choice but to pass himself off as a substitute teacher at Goethe Comprehensive School, thus providing the German educational system with one more problem, i.e. the craziest teacher of all time. At night, Zeki digs secretly for his loot: during the day, he uses drastic yet effective methods to bring the unruly kids of class 10B back on track. Although his prim and proper fellow teacher Lisi Schnabelstedt condemns the unorthodox pedagogical approach taken by her new „colleague," she nevertheless finds herself falling in love with Zeki and even helps him dig up something more valuable than cash, namely the remains of his own moral integrity. English As soon as I see a comedy with such uncompromisingly positive vibes, I have to add a star to my rating. The person responsible for that in this movie is Elyas M'Barek, who plays exactly the kind of character that everyone simply must like. And this goes for other characters as well, including the shy ones such as the one played by Karoline Herfurth, who delivered an excellent performance, which was often a joy to watch. As far as comedies go, this is one of the best I’ve ever seen. I can see myself rewatching these two hours in the future, even multiple times. I haven’t seen such positive vibes in a comedy in a long time. ()

English A corrupt teacher in Germany, boy style – and above all perfectly funny. I never expected that a comedy from our Western neighbors would bring tears of laughter to my eyes, simply never. And Elyas M'Barek just put a hundred and one bees in teachers' bonnets. ()

English It’s alright. Don't expect any originality, the jokes are overdone, but the film has heart. The transformation of rude pricks into decent people is more like science fiction, but it's a pleasure. ()

English It's on the edge, but I'm happy to award the fourth star for the delicate Mr Müller, who demonstrates the only 100% effective and correct way to deal with brash, maladjusted brats at school. The plot may not have anything new to offer, but perhaps no one can doubt that this kind of story is justified nowadays, moreover in such an entertaining and accessible form for the youth it criticises. English There are moments here that are almost out of place, that must be here just because it's expected, but that doesn't mean that I didn't laugh during this great German comedy. On the contrary, I laughed a lot and gladly. Great rough character who discovers something more within himself, but mainly an excellent school that wonderfully doesn't work so that something can change. Exactly the relaxing comedy that a person occasionally needs. ()
