When it comes to pilot episodes, they often serve to set the stage, introduce characters, and establish the overall premise. However, Gomorrah's first episode threw me into the thick of it with such breakneck speed that I barely had a chance to catch my breath, let alone get acquainted with the characters before the action kicked in.
