This period drama tells the story of the turbulent and moving relationship between John Brinnin, an aspiring poet in 1950s New York, and his hero, the hell raising Welsh poet Dylan Thomas whose work Brinnin helped bring to America. In 1950, lauded Welsh poet Dylan Thomas made his first-ever trip to the US. Conservative Harvard grad and aspiring poet John Brinnin gets a once in a lifetime opportunity to take care of Thomas upon his arrival to America. There are many wild stories that accompany the luminary poet but nothing can prepare Brinnin for the task at hand. Thomas is a genius wordsmith but has poor people skills, drinks way too much and parties like there is no tomorrow. In order to complete his scheduled tour across some of America's top universities, Brinnin decides to help the poet by taking him to a small cabin in rural Connecticut in hopes to disconnect him from the world and give his binge drinking and big ego a rest. But even in the middle of nowhere, Thomas finds an audience for his art, his passion, love and aggression. (Cinemax)
