Belfast, 1971: a young, rookie soldier, Gary Hook (Jack O'Connell –Starred Up, Unbroken, Skins), is sent on his first field operation as the British military deploy emergency troops to try to suppress the increasing violence. When their first mission sparks a riot, Gary is accidentally abandoned by his unit in the frenzy.
