Vampyres isn't meant to be groundbreaking, but it's a film that taps into old mythology/history - Countess Bathory - and also follows the tradition of similar movies like Daughters of Darkness, to mention one that's part of "101 Horror Movies You Must See Before You Die." You get some satisfaction in what you expect from the film, but it's nothing more than a lesbian vampire flick.
