English The best Christmas TV fairytale this year, only it’s far too long. Alas. Yet it has almost everything that most contemporary fairytales lack - a likable main character, who this time can act so well that he can handle the double role without any problems, a charming princess (only she could have smiled sooner than after 80 minutes), a charismatic king (Tomáš Hanák), a generous production design, but it doesn't play at being Hollywood. The screenplay bet on certainty, adapted the story of The Prince and the Pauper to suit its needs, and dispensed with attempts at humor, satire and other things that are fine only when they work. It’s good. ()

English Casting an unsympathetic man in the main role, who also doesn't deliver much in terms of acting, is truly a skill. This fact, along with the very average fairy tale story, where everything happens just casually, really ruins the overall impression for me. Then there's nothing left but to admire the beautiful exteriors and the very decent set design. (40%) ()
