Reviews of this series by the user Kaka (43)

Kinbaku (2016) (S02E05)

English Not everyone will like Elektra, but for those who do, it's definitely an entertaining episode. There’s plenty of her, she’s hot, knows how to fight and is wild. We’ll see how they’ll use her potential in the coming episodes. ()

Regrets Only (2016) (S02E06)

English A bit James Bond, a bit Mission Impossible. The important thing is that Frank Castle has charisma even in a hospital bed. ()

Semper Fidelis (2016) (S02E07)

English The Punisher has stopped punishing and now has lawyers fighting for him. We move from a dark comic book adaptation to a brilliantly lit courtroom procedural. It's an interesting departure, in a good direction. There was a bit too much action and it's time to slow down a little, hopefully it will benefit the story. The secondary plot with Elektra is kind of erratic, we'll see what the outcome is. ()

Guilty as Sin (2016) (S02E08)

English A first-rate courtroom procedural with an incredible performance by Frank himself. Surprisingly, the lack of action doesn't matter at all, quite the opposite. The story's calming down gives it a boost of intensity, after all, there have been quite a few kicks already. The same praise cannot be said for the second line with Yakuza and their strange experiment. ()

Seven Minutes in Heaven (2016) (S02E09)

English As the future Kingpin, Fisk is doing his magic in prison and making big plans that include using the Punisher. Awesome plot, made even better by the famous prison brawl at the end of the episode. Too bad about Matt and his so far not so great storyline with Elektra, especially with the bullshit Yakuza ninja plot. ()

The Man in The Box (2016) (S02E10)

English Matt vs. Fisk is again one of the more interesting moments of dialogue in the entire series, and it can’t be denied the creators have a talent for the interaction of the main characters and the associated impressive tension and simultaneous excitement that they provide. Probably the top moment in this episode, complementing the attack on Reyes. ()

.380 (2016) (S02E11)

English The restaurant scene, and Frank Castle, is what makes this episode one of the best again. ()

The Dark at the End of the Tunnel (2016) (S02E12)

English Little Elektra is choreographically better than big Elektra, which is truly impressive. The whole story around the mystical The Hand is sort of outside the contours of the realistic world of Daredevil, so it's best to take it with a grain of salt. Clancy Brown never disappoints though, and again the situation surrounding the Punisher is much more interesting. ()

A Cold Day in Hell's Kitchen (2016) (S02E13)

English The finale this time is disappointing. It's still the same, sometimes quite overdone action, a strange and uninspiring finale with Nobu and the Yakuza. A lot of the information outline in the course of the season is left unexplained, and it’s also missing closure and emotion. ()

Season 3 (2018) (S03)

English If a fan of the series skips Season 3, they won’t be missing much. Punisher and Elektra are gone and Fisk is again doing things for a better future, just like in the first season. Everything is even more far-fetched, more muddled and more of a stretch. Apart from perhaps a few episodes that stray from the classic triangle of main characters and bring a fresh wind to the plates (e.g. the Karen episode), it's same old same old. I can’t be bothered with a fourth season. Also, this season is missing an over-the-top single take scene like the stairs from he Season 1 or the prison from Season 2. And there's Bullseye, who had so much potential. ()

Resurrection (2018) (S03E01)

English Lukewarm, thoughtful, controversial. Sort of Daredevil Rises, only without any epicness, and a proper budget with a hero who, at least this time, doesn't have nearly as much charisma. I can’t wait for Fisk to get out of prison and start doing his thing. ()

Please (2018) (S03E02)

English Everything about Matt is lame, contrived, unnecessarily religiously themed and wordy. Everything about Fisk, his greatest enemy, is unpredictable and makes sense. So far two strongly uneven endings and a third season that is leaving a dull impression. ()

No Good Deed (2018) (S03E03)

English Matt has been looking for the meaning of life and his own existence for three episodes, and it’s already too much. ()

Blindsided (2018) (S03E04)

English The prison scene is again the highlight of an otherwise highly average third season. If I take into account that each of the seasons had an imaginary peak of all the action scenes in the ones where most things happened on a minimum of shots and cuts, then this one is probably a winner, or a tie with the second one, with another fight on stairs. Both are similarly imaginative, the prison one is perhaps a little darker and gloomier, but it's sensational nonetheless, and you can feel the inspiration from Hard Boiled behind every other camera shot. ()

The Perfect Game (2018) (S03E05)

English An episode about bad guys with an almost complete absence of good guys. This is how experimental the third of season Daredevil can be. Interesting, just a bit awkward in terms of pace and tempo. ()

The Devil You Know (2018) (S03E06)

English A top notch fight between good and bad Daredevil. But you’ll probably won’t remember anything a week later. ()

Aftermath (2018) (S03E07)

English Interestingly conceived manipulation of the FBI agent by Fisk, but otherwise it's mostly drawn out nothing. Foggy and Karen are just there to live up to their characters and somewhere along the way there is a use for them that at least makes some sense. ()

Upstairs/Downstairs (2018) (S03E08)

English A verbose episode with a kick-ass Karen vs Fisk conversation and of course a finale that was kind of predictable a few episodes back thanks to the chemistry and proper interaction. ()

Revelations (2018) (S03E09)

English An interesting story twist delivered in a striking, clever and surprising way. On the other hand, the situation around the past of Matt’s parents is already boring and tedious. Hopefully, the next episodes and the finale will revolve primarily around Wilson Fisk and his spiderweb. ()

Karen (2018) (S03E10)

English One of the best and most poignant episodes of the third season of Daredevil, and ironically the main character is barely there at all. The dramatic probe in the form of a kind of flashback into Karen's rather dark past is impressive and appropriately dramatic. ()
