Yes, it really is as bad as one would expect. It's not very enjoyable to watch because it's all just one big case of awkwardness. It's reminiscent of the old sci-fi shows, but it doesn't have their charm. Here, it's painfully obvious how cheap it is, and it definitely burdens the film. I'd rather have any episode of any Star Trek series instead.
