This self-ironic film of a humane intellectual attitude starts with Halász Péter (teacher, father about to divorce, citizen supplementing his income by black work) spying upon an undressing couple behind the window. But he is watched himself, for suddenly he gets an offer from a private detective office to shadow the woman. Later it is no longer so sure whether he was assigned to any kind of mission or nor, yet Halász watches, follows, shadows, makes inquiries, gets into mistaken, politically piquant situations, what is more, he finds himself in the centre of conflicts totally incomprehensible to him. He gets entangled with the watched woman sexually, they have a baby, and the job of the woman's husband is given to him. His lies are believed and toppled with newer ones. He accepts that he will never know what he is really looking for and what he should really be doing. He embraces with Kincses Márta in the new family nest. (official distributor synopsis)
