Imagine that your whole livelihood depends on the slimy body of an eel. In China, young Chen's family fishery is of accused of delivering contaminated eels to Korea, and such fish is useless for the local market. Yet Chen is sure that there must be something fishy behind the chemical analysis. The three eels that he smuggles in a box across the border offer the key to a web of illegal business practices and the interests of people who really do not care about the stomachs of sushi-eaters. The saying that "a fish rots from the head" soon turns cruelly and bitterly personal for Chen. The political thriller about Chinese-Korean relationships is based on a script by the internationally respected director Kim Ki-duk. (Febiofest)
