The landowner, Karády János, is knocked down and robbed on the highway. He comes to in the shabby clothes of one of the robbers. Thirteen pretty young girls take care of the young man thought to be a poor vagabond. He is given pleasant accommodation in the garage of Piri's father. Karády likes both the situation which has developed due to the misunderstanding and the lovely Piri. He secretly supports the family, gets a job for the coachman father and protects the girl from the assertiveness of her boss, Mr. Rezső. For a while he carries on with his wealthy life as well, courting the well-to-do Varjas Ria, who loves the poor civil servant, Balogh Feri. When his double life is revealed, he marries Piri.
