Monte Adentro follows the lives of "The Gypsies", two brothers of one of the last muleteer families in Colombia. Alonso attempts to start a new life, now forced by the illness of their mother to live in the city. Novier, the other brother, still in the mountains of Caldas Province, tries to make a living and maintain their old house and the mule-driving tradition. It is not easy for a peasant family to survive in today's Colombia, let alone if they are muleteers, a centuries-old profession in extinction. (Guanajuato International Film Festival)
