Tamás Péter, a popular conductor, lives in a happy marriage with his second wife, Judit. The life of the woman is stirred up one day by an encounter with her suitor before her marriage, Sándorházy. Her former passion is set on fire again and after a lengthy struggle with herself she escapes to the man. They suffer a car-crash. The woman asks for help from a restaurant nearby. Bordás, the dissolute medical student, arrives too late: the man dies. Judit escapes from the site and returns to her husband. Bordás, however, finds her and blackmails her. First he wants money, then lays the heart of the beautiful lady, who revokes the memories of his former pure self, under siege. Judit is saved from him by the son of Tamás Péter, born in his first marriage. Judit confesses everything to her husband who forgives her and the harmony of their marriage returns.
