Tibor Schultz, a poor village boy becomes a painter. After finishing the painting school he visits his mother who lives a little village. He is working on a picture of a forest source. Suddenly the beautiful granddaughter of Ranger, Mary appears and begins to bathe in the source water. She doesn't notices the painter. The bathing young girl is also painted. When she learns what happened, runs away shyly. Later they meet again and fall in love. The idyll does not last long, because the painter can't resist the calls of the capital. He asks for help from a banker who once was the guest of his mother house due to a car accident. The banker's wife seduces the talented young man. Meanwhile, Mari gives birth to the Tibor's son, she entrusts the care of the child to Tibor's mother, and she also goes to the capital, where she works in a hat salon. She soon finds Tibor and she is begging for his love and asks him to come back to her, but the young man rejects her request. Then Mari goes to the banker and tell him that his wife is unfaithful to him. To get revenge because his wife's faithlessness the banker burns all paintings of the young painter in a garden party. Tibor goes mad when he sees that all his paintings, his entire oeuvre begins to burn. He commits suicide. (official distributor synopsis)
