Fassbinder has his very specific style, which makes him quite recognizable. This detachment is evident here until the last scene, which is somewhat surprising but at the same time an inevitable consequence. The whole story has relatively good and interesting characters, but they can also be distant for the viewer. However, Fassbinder firmly held the entire film in his hands.
