A summer’s day. Five young people are trapped in a state of eternal summer holidays. The city is their stage, their backdrop is the living room, the swimming pool, the restaurant or the forest’s edge. Abandoned, Tubbie, the unpredictable leader of the gang, Tim, Jojo, Birdie and young girl Marie have created their own family. They stray aimlessly, wistfully and as hungry as wild dogs through the streets of an anonymous city. Together they experience fleeting moments of happiness during the scorching summer. But cracks slowly begin to appear in their coexistence and pent-up emotions erupt in a dramatic act of violence. An aesthetically and visually impressive film about the energy and moods of a small group of people who have lost their grip on reality. Presented in seven acts, director Henri Steinmetz’s multi-protagonist film tells of a disturbed, pensive, infantile youth that is destroyed by its own nihilism. (Zurich Film Festival)
