English Holes is a likeable fantasy comedy with superbly cast actors who excel in the main adult roles. The problem here is that the real main characters are children, but due to its subject matter, the film is not for kids. Not that it would be inappropriate for them, but it doesn’t tell them anything. Holes is more of an unusual fairy tale for adults, a tasteful, laid-back and skilfully filmed movie with distinctive charm. And an overly long runtime. ()

English If the historical flashbacks didn't have so much space, two problems would have been avoided: the excessive runtime and the hold back from the more interesting line in the camp. ()
