Lidi has been living in America for 30 years. Her son has been educated in the best schools. When he meets his mother, he shows no sign of recognizing her. Lidi, in despair, returns home only to find that her father, whom she believed to be dead, is alive, but would not hear of his daughter. János, Lidi's son, has a bad conscience and comes to Hungary to find his mother. Thanks to Klári, a Hungarian girl working as a clerk in a post office, the memories of János's American fiancée, daughter of a millionaire, are soon forgotten. But the girl, however, would have to marry a miller. It takes Lidi, the practical-minded woman, one day to get to the heart of the matter, sorting out all the problems. She even makes it up with her father, giving János and Klári assistance to start a happy life together. (official distributor synopsis)
