English If it weren't for the ensemble of actors that gathered here, there probably wouldn't be any interest in The Treasure of a Byzantine Merchant today, but thanks to all the actors involved, the not-very- imaginative crime drama turned into a pleasant spectacle, lightened with humor and supported by Liška's traditionally sensational music. Apart from Jiří Sovák with a beard, drunk Lubomír Lipský with both hands in a cast and the unusually wacky Josef Kemr, there is also a rather bizarre bunch - Jiří Vala, Jan Libíček, Václav Lohniský. English A Czech crime story whose main motive is a murder, but they pretend there is none for the entire the running time. The final scene with drunk actors Jiří Sovák, Lubomír Lipský, Josef Kemr and Jan Libíček, who drive away in their cars, is also great. It is quite clear that this film was something extra at that time. It is also very poetic and with kind, effortless humor, which made me really happy. ()

English The first of Erben's Exner projects. It's a film riding on the frivolous mood of light-hearted 60s comedies, starring Gabriela Vránová in a befitting beret and pompom. Vala is sexy, and the other characters are like cut-outs from well-illustrated anecdotes. It could have been a nice film series, but the search for ever new ways to adapt Erben's Captain Exner for the movie theater caused inconsistencies, which in practice resulted in no representative DVD series and only one book with a film cover. Fans who are collectors are therefore disappointed. ()
