Christopher Lee stars in this British shocker as Phillipe Darvas, the leader of The Theatre of Death, a Grand Guignol theater troupe in Paris. Attracted to one of the leads in their gruesome plays, a police surgeon begins frequenting the theater. At the same time, a series of grotesque murders plague Paris, and soon The Theatre of Death falls under suspicion. As the surgeon becomes more involved with the group, he begins to realize that something more sinister that he ever imagined is going on behind the scenes. (official distributor synopsis)
