English A beautiful documentary on the history of New Zealand film. The film was likely made during the joy of the international success of Jane Campion's The Piano (1993). The guide is Sam Neill, and the film stars the New Zealand landscape. I myself see NZ films as something special and I return to them every now and then. The experience is unrepeatable: An Angel at My Table (1990), Desperate Remedies (1992), Bread & Roses (1993), Heavenly Creatures (1994), Once Were Warriors (1994)... Of the more recent films, I would add Topless Women Talk About Their Lives (1997), The Price of Milk (2000), and Rain (2001). ()
