In the Shadow of Iris

A well-paced thriller that won't let you breathe, and the twists and turns make it impossible to know how it will end. I enjoyed the gradual discovery of the truth through time jumps and it wasn't particularly confusing, it was just enough to heighten the tension and the viewer's curiosity. And most importantly, Duris and Le Bon are excellent, you trust them with every look, every wrinkle, every tear. This is a film that deserves a bigger audience. (03/17/2017)

Romain Duris and Charlotte Le Bon are a good choice for a French crime film. But that doesn’t change the fact that the French have made far better, more distinctive and important crime films over the decades... and Iris is far from those. In addition, it is also an erotic thriller and at times it made me feel like I was watching Jakubisko’s Post Coitum. Simply stupid. (05/21/2020)
