Santa Clarita Diet

The first season of the American horror-comedy streaming television series Santa Clarita Diet is successful at not being afraid to combine the two genres. Sure, there really is not much that is very scary. It is more in the subject matter than the atmosphere. However, it is still a show that knows how to entertain its audience, and it is genuinely hilarious in places. I guess that means you could forgive it for not being more of a horror show, although it is quite an original take on the zombie horror genre. (03/02/2020)

With its second season, Santa Clarita Diet proves that its creators have done something that perfectly fits both the genres of comedy and horror plus crime drama. There is a very active policewoman after them, and even within that particular genre, they manage to turn the classic elements on their head. I would not have expected to have enjoyed Drew Barrymore as much as I did, but Timothy Olyphant and Barrymore simply had great on-screen chemistry. (03/10/2020)

The third season of Santa Clarita Diet certainly did not disappoint me. You could perhaps say it ended on a high note. I am probably going to miss the Hammonds for a while. On the other hand, it is nice that it did not turn into a stodgy set-up like other comedy shows have managed to do. However, it definitely proved that horror and comedy are friends if there are the right producers bringing them together. (03/12/2020)
