Our story centres around a small German town that would look exactly like dozens of other small German towns, situated near a vast forest, if it wasn’t for the imposing nuclear power plant that seems to stretch beyond the horizon. The plant holds a mystery of such magnitude that it has permeated through everything and everyone in town, poisoning the minds of both the generation who remember what it was all about, and their descendants – who were raised in a completely different world. The series tells the story of four influential families whose members will have to face not only physical obstacles and threats, but also their inner demons, hidden beneath masks of normalcy. Adults commit suicide, children go missing, massacred cadavers appear out of nowhere, and there are unnerving lights and sounds in a mysterious forest cave leading to god knows where. The past intertwines with the present and marks the future; while time, whimsical as always, waits for no man. No one will leave the town unharmed. (Camerimage)

Season 1 (2017) (S01)
The first half of the first season of Dark is definitely an interesting example of how to make a show with a great atmosphere that gives you chills. However, the second half went in a direction that I did not particularly enjoy, and although I would have preferred the whole thing to have been a bit different, some people could appreciate it.

Season 2 (2019) (S02)
The second season of Dark has not fundamentally convinced me that it is a particularly great television series. However, I must admit it will probably excite science fiction fans even though I found it perhaps too overwrought, too overcomplicated. I was also disappointed in the lack of atmosphere despite the great soundtrack. Oh, and I am not going to lie, time travel and causality are not exactly something I want to watch.

Season 3 (2020) (S03)
From my point of view, the third season of Dark is very good. It is good mainly because as the last season, it concludes a series that became unnecessarily complicated, although it started out well enough. I am not sure it is so clever, although I was probably just not in the mood, to be honest. After saying that, though, some good things about it make it still worth watching to the end.
