The first half of the first season of Dark is definitely an interesting example of how to make a show with a great atmosphere that gives you chills. However, the second half went in a direction that I did not particularly enjoy, and although I would have preferred the whole thing to have been a bit different, some people could appreciate it. ()
The first season wasn’t all that impressive but, then again, not a total disappointment either. The first half of the series seemed rather unconvincing, the second half was much more balanced. The writing was much better, and I had a great time as a result. At first, the whole thing strongly reminded me of Stranger Things, later it also made me remember Brian Lumley's “Necroscope” series. The resemblance to the Perchorsk Incident was considerable (minus the vampires). 4*- ()
