Cause of Death: Unknown

A sudden, unexpected death from prescription anti-psychotics triggers a global investigation into the crimes of the pharmaceutical industry and the ways in which they turned dangerous, deadly medications into multi-billion-dollar blockbusters. In 2005, director Anniken Hoel's sister Renate died mysteriously while being treated with these medications. Wanting to learn more about what led to her untimely death, Anniken discovers that Renate was only one of many victims worldwide, and soon fi nds herself tracing threads of a complex system that takes her from a small town in Norway through the institutions, corporations, and halls of political power in both the EU and US.
