Based on his true story, The Rider stars breakout Brady Jandreau as a once rising star of the rodeo circuit warned that his competition days are over after a tragic riding accident. Back home, Brady finds himself wondering what he has to live for when he can no longer do what gives him a sense of purpose: to ride and compete. One hundred minutes of lyrical banging the head of a man who’s lost his purpose in life. I can understand Brady, the hero, but I would relate to him more if that lost life purpose of his was something more meaningful than horse or bull riding. The Rider is not for me, but does have its qualities.
