The American movie Eyes of Laura Mars has a problematic screenplay as it certainly does not have the most unpredictable ending you could have imagined. The story builds up interestingly, and some great performances make the movie very watchable. Again, John Carpenter shows he had some great ideas as a screenwriter. They were just not perfected in this movie. ()
The word "paranormal" usually adds a cool edge to a movie—unless it’s shot in the most clichéd, old-school American way possible. Throw in some cheesy, over-the-top suspense music, and you’ve got characters acting like they’re out of their minds. I really struggled to finish Eyes of Laura Mars. The idea had potential, but at times, I thought the suspense might actually bore me to death. ()
