Season 1 (2018) (S01)

English I wasn’t disappointed by Season 1, but I was particularly pleased either. I expected Matt Groening’s show to be funny (if not roll on the floor hilarious) from start to finish, but it wasn’t the case. Yes, some of the episodes were great, but others were rather awkward and only made me smile a couple of times or even bored me. Eventually, the positives outweighed the negatives and I’ll definitely watch the next season. ()

A Princess, an Elf, and a Demon Walk Into a Bar (2018) (S01E01)

English Let's break it down: the theme is fantastic — a princess with a penchant for booze and gambling, her personal demon, and a bonus elf. Matt Groening is always a delight, some of the one-liners were truly great, and I can recognize Matt Berry's voice from IT Crowd anywhere. However, despite all these positives, the episode didn't quite come together as I'd hoped. There were quite a few dull moments, and I found myself genuinely laughing only a couple of times, mostly just smiling occasionally. I was expecting a bigger hit to the funny bone. ()

For Whom the Pig Oinks (2018) (S01E02)

English The second episode gave me the same vibes as the first one. It wasn't consistently funny; it had its moments, but they felt scattered. The main issue seems to be the lack of connection between these funny bits or there's just not enough of them. I believe the show has the potential to be entertaining throughout an entire episode, but so far, there are still times when I find myself getting a bit bored. ()

The Princess of Darkness (2018) (S01E03)

English The funniest episode so far, keeping me entertained from the opening chase with the stolen carriage to the magmatic finale. It delivered exactly what I had been hoping for and what had been missing up until now. I had a blast and often found myself laughing out loud. ()

Castle Party Massacre (2018) (S01E04)

English Wow, this episode took it up a notch from the last one I praised. The blend of a castle party and a wild romp in the catacombs really worked for me. There wasn't single a dull moment. ()

Faster, Princess! Kill! Kill! (2018) (S01E05)

English "Blasphemer! How dare you bring logic into God's house?" That line had me grinning from ear to ear. I had a feeling this episode would be a blast, and I wasn't wrong. The job search scene was one of the highlights of the season, and the Hansel and Gretel bit... priceless. ()

Swamp and Circumstance (2018) (S01E06)

English After three fantastic episodes, I didn't expect such a drop. The story itself wasn't bad, but the humor fell back to the level of the first two episodes. I smiled occasionally, but most of the time I was disappointed. ()

Love's Tender Rampage (2018) (S01E07)

English The episode started strong with booze, a plague pit, and a drug trip, showing that demons, elves, and teens had stamina even in the Middle Ages. However, the rest of the story didn’t quite convince me. The humor faded as it went on, and it didn’t deliver the fun I was hoping for. ()

The Limits of Immortality (2018) (S01E08)

English The episode was packed with action, all revolving around the Eternity Pendant. This led to a kidnapping and the launch of a crusade, with King Zog even canceling all other crusades (including the lemon one!). The creators showed me the edge of the world and delivered an ending that would make Indiana Jones or Lara Croft proud. ()

To Thine Own Elf Be True (2018) (S01E09)

English The return to the Elven forest was delightful, though I’m puzzled why it didn’t captivate me as much the first time around. Maybe it’s because candy just doesn’t cut it without a proper dose of alcohol, who knows? The defense of those tiny, sweet creatures against the invaders really drove home how dangerous the world can be. ()

Dreamland Falls (2018) (S01E10)

English The season finale didn't quite hit the mark for me. I was hoping for more laughs, but it felt like the creators spent the whole episode just setting up for the next season. Honestly, I would have watched the next season regardless — I would have preferred more humor in this one. ()
