A superb collaboration between two Hollywood men from Germany. Marlene Dietrich, Fritz Lang, and a color western? Why not? Marlene had already proved in the late 1930s that she could handle any genre perfectly. And later, she added Wayne to Stewart's ranks. It is unfortunate about the controversy over Altar's styling - Lang wanted Marlene to play the part of an older woman just for him, but he simply wanted her to do it too soon.
