English If Oliver Stone exhaustively defined the behind-the-scenes practices of American football in all its glory and tragedy in Any Given Sunday, Spike Lee managed to do the same  a year earlier in a similar cinematic sensation, but with basketball, exclusively from an African-American perspective, of course, but it couldn’t be expected otherwise. It's not a pure sports film, nor is it a pure family melodrama, it’s diluted and nuanced with just enough of everything, with a lot of ideas and situations that are repeated with great precision over and over again, even in real life. The sensational Denzel Washington, the gorgeous Rosario Dawson, and Ray Allen in a perfectly fitting role that he could never repeat in his life. ()
