Mom´s Idea

Lucía, José and Alfredo, three elderly people over the age of eighty, share something that marked their lives forever: the events of the Spanish Civil War forced them to leave their homeland when they were still children. They were separated from their families forever and never returned to their home country. All three made a life for themselves in Mexico, a country they now consider their own. They all coped with this enforced exile very differently, depending on their character and the experiences they went through. Seventy-one years after leaving, they return to the Basque Country for the last time to find what they left behind. The wound that opened in 1937 may at last be healed. (Ministerio de Cultura)
