Plots(1)

Gomez, Morticia, Pugsley, Wednesday, Uncle Fester, and Grandma join a lively cast of characters to remind us why they are the most eccentric family in the neighborhood. Except in this case, they are the most eccentric family in the run-down mansion on top of a fog surrounded hill in New Jersey. Happily ensconced in their Addams way of life for years, Gomez and Morticia prepare for a visit from their extended family for Pugsley’s “Sabre Mazurka,” a rite of passage ceremony to prove he is ready to become an Addams Family man. Little does the family know, their neighbor down the hill is constructing a prefabricated community, replete with technicolor pop and perfectionism. When the fog lifts, Margaux is disconcerted to see The Addams Family mansion - the one thing standing between her dream of selling all the houses in the neighborhood and being adored as a TV personality forever. As Pugsley struggles to learn the complicated “Sabre Mazurka” routine, Wednesday finds herself struggling with coming-of-age. She befriends Margaux’s daughter Parker and pushes boundaries, as well as, Morticia’s buttons by joining in on “normal” pursuits like attending public school, cheerleading, and pink barrettes. English So how is the new Addams Family? The characters are reminiscent of the original drawings again after all these years, but the narrative is more reminiscent of the story of Edward Scissorhands than anything else. It's honestly really short and it's not the clever fun one would expect after so many years of this brand. Undemanding viewers and especially children will be satisfied. I think of it as a brand refresh and a reminder for new generations. I'd enjoy a new series for long winter evenings in the future. ()

English The Addams Family is an American movie that clearly demonstrates that The Addams Family is still relevant and has something to offer modern audiences. It is still very entertaining, and the 3D designs of the individual characters are very cool. I thought Wednesday was the best, and she has always been my favorite, so yeah, The Addams Family is worth watching. ()

English As a great lover of Sonnenfeld's live action films, I had a hard time chewing through the thick and confusing character of Gomez; then, however, I found out that this was based on a completely original treatment, so I shut up. It's not stupid at all, but it's all the more visually awful (meant in a bad way). The film contains some great jokes, but kicks off with a final summation. The Addamses must always stand on the other side of suburban chauvinism and not live in mutual respect with it. And shove those cell phones and laptops up your ass here, too. ()

English Family problems are timeless and ubiquitous, and not even the most morbid family of all time can avoid them. Wednesday is bored with her mundane life and seeks solace in the pink regions, while Pugsley faces a challenging test of adulthood in the form of a sabre dance. Judging by the reviews here and abroad (Imdb), I expected something worse, but in the end it is a briskly made piece with more than one good idea or joke, which will never become an icon of its genre, but will certainly not offend the viewer. On the other hand, it is true that more could have been made out of it, because the Addams family has a lot of potential. ()
