English Mihály Schwechtje deals very well with the current topic of the pitfalls of the Internet, which still present many difficulties for gullible teenagers. It is nothing new under the sun, the American drama Disconnect from 6 years before, portrays a similar story in one of its plotlines, and takes the repercussions a little further. However, I Hope That You’ll Die Next Time :-) devotes more attention to the characters, their psychology and motivations. In addition, the performances of the young non-actors are excellent. English I wasn’t exactly overexcited after watching this film. If it hadn’t been for the twist, I’d have probably rated it with only two stars. The film did not offer anything that I hadn’t already seen in other films with a similar theme – disgusting perverts vs. dumb bimbos. Things like that hardly have a chance of turning into something extraordinary. ()
