The feature film debut from French director Baya Kasmi, I'm All Yours, is a funny, stylised comedy about the young, charming Hanna who has an unusal condition. Her "neurosis of kindness" prevents her from saying no to people. This makes her do all kinds of strange things, such as sleeping with men she has to fire, because she feels sorry for them. But what to do when she falls in love with her sick brother's doctor, who thinks she is a prostitute? Or when Hakim, her brother, needs a kidney transplant? Through a combination of sophisticated humour and good taste, Baya Kasmi manages to tackle these issues in a comical manner without losing the respect (or the laughter) that these tragicomical situations deserve. What to think of a movie that begins with a scene where some French nymphomaniac sleeps with some French dude in Škoda Octavia RS? She wasn’t bad looking but I also cannot say that she was that nice to look at. Meanwhile, a Muslim family got thrown in the mix and the creators started to make fun of Muslims so that they would show that Muslims are actually completely fine, progressive, and can laugh at an intelligent joke. At the same time, the movie tells the whole story with that typical French gradation which works really well in their comedies. The only difference is that all of that wannabe humor is so superficial that I actually felt sick. I felt as if the movie was trying to tell us how great Muslims actually are. That they aren’t really bad and that we can experience a lot of fun with them. Really?

The French have quite good comedies, and this one is an example of that. It's not a great slapstick, but the idea alone is excellent. A young woman who is a bit broken in the sense that she can't say no. Since she works in a department where people are often fired, it's a problem. So she found a way to overcome her psychological problem and make the fired employees' journey a bit easier. Basically, she sleeps with them. Building a story around this was an art, but it succeeded!
