Plots(1)

Mr. Link is the slightly silly, surprisingly smart and soulful beast who is the last living remnant of Man’s primitive ancestry, the Missing Link. As species go, he couldn't be more endangered; he’s the last of his kind and he’s lonely. Proposing a daring quest to find his rumored distant relatives, he enlists the help of Sir Lionel Frost, the world’s foremost investigator of myths and monsters, and Adelina Fortnight, who possesses the only known map to the group’s secret destination, in an odyssey around the world to find the fabled valley of Shangri-La. English A beautiful cartoon, more for adults than children, both in terms of its artistry (I was blown away by the stop-motion splendor from start to finish) and its story, as wacky as it is sweet and wise. The main character, with Hugh Jackman's voice, is a sort of plasticine Count Teleke of Tölökö, and Carter Burwell hasn't composed such nice music in a while... Everything's on point. ()

English Nemo and Dory have been found, and so it's time for another search, but this time from a different barrel of animation. Missing Link has little to surprise, story-wise it's not a very polished film with any unexpected twists or deeper meaning. But it ran nicely in the cinema, the animation was quite good, and there was even one quite funny moment. Apart from humour, the film did not lack action, especially in the ending (where you have to ignore the laws of physics). ()
