Kieler Street

When Jonas’s neighbor and friend confronts him and his dark past, he panics and kills him. At the same time that he needs to dispose of the body, he is expected to help his wife prepare the upcoming barbecue party, deal with his moody step-daughter and his unlikable boss (Johan Rehborg). The subsequent insight that the neighbors in Slusvik are not who they make themselves out to be, and have protected identities, disturbs the peace. Who are we actually, what is normal, and how far are the inhabitants in the small town prepared to go to not be found out? Very far, it turns out. (Göteborg Film Festival)
