It is 1971 and spring has come to Iceland in Margrét Örnólfsdóttir’s reworking of Viktor Arnar Ingólfsson’s novel of the same name. Johanna’s father has left behind decades of research about an enigmatic, medieval text on the Norwegian kings. When a Danish cryptographer is found dead on an uninhabited island nearby, she risks being accused of the murder. To find out what happened, Johanna turns to the ancient texts and the dark legends. Moreover, the man she fled from 10 years ago is sent to the island to investigate the murder, and Johanna is forced to confront her greatest fear. (Göteborg Film Festival)
